Caps Take 6th Straight Over SL 5-0

No double digits, no problem. Topeka maintained their dominance over the South Division with a commanding 5-0 win over the Sugar Land Imperials in the third game of a four-game stretch.

Five different players found the net for Topeka Saturday night starting with Brandon Hawkins who scored at 8:09 in the second to give the Caps the only lead they would need. Georgy Ostapchuk and Jayden Munnelly added goals of their own in the period and it was 3-0 heading into the third.

Kole Hudson made it 4-0 at :37 of the third and Hardijis Kupaks finished the route at 6:06 and the Caps skated away with a 5-0 win. Trenton Faber had two assists on the night with Ostapchuk, Kupaks, and Hudson picking up two points each as well. With 27 stops, Jude Hull collected his second shutout of the season along with his 13th win in net.

The Caps and Imps battle again Sunday morning at 11:30am. They return home next Saturday to take on the Dallas Junior Stars for a two-game series that will conclude on Sunday.
