Game 1- Texas Roadrunners v Atlanta Capitals September 20th, 2026
The Atlanta Capitals started out the season versus a tough older group in the Texas Roadrunners. Though falling to Texas 7-3, the Capitals battled and have many improvements from last season.
Texas got the scoring started right away with Memphis Palmer-Gummer scoring in the first 2 minutes of a rebound. Around 8 minutes later Kris Pope nets his first of the year at the 12 minute mark of the first period. Nathan Pickett makes it 3-0 Texas with 2 minutes left before Ben Parker makes it 3-1 and gives Atlanta some energy with 30 seconds left in the first.
The beatdown didn’t stop for Texas as they net 2 more unanswered before Joey Hendrix-Truhe nails a shot from the point to cut the score down 5-2. The second period was the story of the goaltending for both teams as Mex Pelton for the Caps and Colby Lee for Texas battled back and forth both making incredible saves. The Capitals had one final push before falling 7-3 and that was the Captain Charlie Lemon Netting the last goal.
The Capitals and Roadrunners battle it out again September 21st and 22nd both games at the Duluth Ice Forum at 11:30 am est.
