The game between Texas and Atlanta was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Texas emerged with a 3-2 win.

Texas gained the winning advantage on a goal by Sam Gagnon 17:45 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.


With the win, Texas avoided elimination to make the series score 1-1 in the best of three series.

Texas was led by Gagnon, who grabbed one goal.

Texas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Atlanta power plays.

Texas additionally got points from Bryan Whelan, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Texas also got a goal from George Hansen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Texas were Nick Nitta, who had two and Brock Brown and Ryan Dunner, who each chipped in one.

Atlanta's offense rang up 47 shots on Texas' net. Atlanta's penalty kill unit could not stop Texas' power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

Atlanta was helped by Ross Bartlett, who had one goal. Bartlett scored 7:05 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Colin OConnor picked up the assist. Evan Camba also scored for Atlanta. More assists for Atlanta came via Andrew Cooley, who had one.

Tyler Myers made 45 saves for Texas on 47 shots. Texas incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Aleksandr Zendejas rejected 18 shots on goal for Atlanta. Atlanta incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
