Cincinnati could not stop Atlanta's Philip Pugliese, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-1 win.
Pugliese's first goal came 11:29 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:43 into the second and at 9:19 into the third.
Atlanta's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cincinnati power plays.
Atlanta also got points from Evan Camba, who also had one goal and one assist.
Atlanta also had goals scored by Kyle Rimbach, Drake Cartwright, and Artus Laukaitis, who scored one goal each. More assists for Atlanta came via Jacob Roers, Riley Hummitsch, Jack Cleaver, Steve MacIver, and Alex Johanson, who contributed one each.
Atlanta's Alekandr Zendejas stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Atlanta incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Daniel Dolliver made 23 saves for Cincinnati on 30 shots. Cincinnati ended with 45 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
