Kyle Rimbach had two goals and one assist to lead Atlanta to a 5-1 victory over Evansville.

Rimbach scored at 14:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Atlanta and again while 2:52 into the third to make the score 3-1 Atlanta.

Atlanta stifled Evansville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Atlanta forced Evansville goalie Brian Forness to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Atlanta also got points from Philip Pugliese, who has a goal in each game of the Capitals 4 last games , also finished with one goal and one assist. Jacob Roers also scored for Atlanta. More assists for Atlanta came via Artus Laukaitis, who had two and Aleksi HoivalaAlex JohansonRyan DumondDylan Wattles, and Ross Bartlett, who each chipped in one.

Evansville managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Evansville wound up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Evansville found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 12 shots against Atlanta's defense.

Evansville was led by William Bonser, who scored the team's only goal. Bonser scored 2:09 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brandon Bornkamp picked up the assist.

Atlanta goalie Alek Zendejas stopped 11 shots out of the 12 that he faced. Atlanta incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Forness rejected 34 shots on goal for Evansville. Evansville registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. 

“We played well, we know its tough to come off a buy weekend and thought we responded. It’s nice to give our fans a good effort at home but now we are looking forward to our 4 game road swing this weekend” said Head Coach Anthony Bohn.
