Smith quickly followed with a goal at 15:57 with assists from his linemates, Rusakov and Ladzinski. Medure quickly followed with a goal at 17:17 with helpers from his linemates, Lajcaj and Steh.
In the third, Opie deposited a goal at 3:03 with assists from Steh and Lester. Joensson answered for the Jr. Thunderbolts with a goal at 18:03 with helpers from Davenport and Zahoran.
The Capitals’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Konin as he stopped 19 of the 21 shots he faced. Konin’s counterpart, Barada, also had a big night, managing to stop 36 of 42, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Atlanta Capitals’ record to (4-0-0-0).
